
As fans of Tolkien will know, there is plenty more to learn about Sauron's conquest of Middle Earth than the brief glimpse we saw at the start of The Fellowship of the Ring.

The posthumously published text offered up a lot more of the backstory to Middle Earth that wasn't covered in the movies.
